Asheboro Elections : Doesn’t anyone “pound the pavement” anymore?

I was under impressed by local candidates efforts to “get the proverbial vote out”.
Seems that all the candidates relied on stay at your desk tactics. In fact, I personnally met no one vying for office. I supppose two postcards, some roadside signs, ads in the local paper, and re-printed reponses to questions posed by the paper were enough. But, not for the two registered voters in my household in East Randleman (a viable voting precinct for Asheboro City offices).
