AAA discount isn’t always best deal

Doing some online travel planning yesterday. Usual stops to Expedia, Orbitz, Priceline. Plugged in our distinations, got pricing on a few hotel chains we prefer (La Quinta, Hampton Inn).

Cross checked the pricing for La Quinta on their own Web site and the “ exclusive” prices were the same as what online “agencies” are offering.

Ever the curious shopper, I went back through the LQ reservation process and checked the AAA membership box.

I was dumbfounded as the price displayed was HIGHER than prices displayed without checking the AAA box.

AAA discount isn’t always a discount.
