This article spells is out: Adobe Systems to Acquire Macromedia for $3.4 Billion .

WOW! If you’re an investor or insider and knew something about this I’m happy for you.

Now I am wondering what will happen to the products sitting on my work desktop and dev server?

Fireworks– Could it be combined with Photoshop? That’s ok with me.. I cut my teeth on Photoshop. Just keep the vector functionality I’m used to.

Dreamweaver – Well, don’t try and mess with this at the risk of pissing off the legions of users. I don’t want GoLive or anything that looks like GoLive. I tried it, Version 1, and it was clunky at best.

Flash– Here’s were Adobe wins. Native Flash intergration is a win for the Abobe wipped.

ColdFusion– Adobe better leave this one alone too. This is product where Adobe has nothing to offer.
