Wheels turning on skateboard park,

Here’s some good news for the local skateboarder:

Wheels turning on skateboard park, Sunday, January 16, 2005

Looks like a skatepark is on the way. If the business owners and City are smart they will understand the benefit of this project. No chipped sidewalks, worn handrails, damaged parking blocks that are sure signs that skaters were there. This will presrve business facades and the new sidewalk improvements recently completed downtown Asheboro.

While skate parks in Winston and High Point are getting the share of TV coverage not a nod by any TV outlet of what’s happening here in Asheboro.

The skatepark will give the skateboard enthusiasts a place to practice. Like those two I saw on North Fayetville Street this Sunday (with temps in the 20’s).
